  Most likely the people who originally uploaded them downloaded them from Mnet. I do buy some music off of Mnet but since I don’t really have money because I’m not working, I cannot buy them myself. But most likely all these songs can be purchased off Mnet. I’m planning to buy a single today..^^

    Not happening, unless you’re running Windows on your Mac (every Mac since 2006 has an Intel Core or Core 2 processor). That’s the sort of thing that irks me about dealing with Korea over the Internet. Sometimes, they have their heads on straight and can be helpful (Mnet does at least have a mostly-English sign-up page for non-resident foreigners), but more often, if you don’t fit the mold (Korean-resident, Korean-speaking, Windows-using) you don’t enter into their minds. It’s not that they actively hate diverse customers…they just don’t think of them at all. That is changing, but slowly.

    To run Windows on your Intel Mac, you can use Parallels and run Windows in a virtual machine, or you can use Boot Camp to set up a separate hard drive area for Windows and reboot into it. (You can also combine the two by setting up Boot Camp, then using Parallels to run Windows off your Boot Camp partition.)
    
    I’ve never been able to get Mnet.com to load properly in OS X. They use a bunch of Adobe Flash components that don’t recognize the text…because it’s encoded in the Windows format that OS X doesn’t use (OS X uses UTF-16 for pretty much everything). Strangely, Windows (from 2000 on) also uses UTF-16 internally, but the API layer uses code page 949. The net result? Mnet.com won’t load properly in OS X (you get a bunch of trash characters) and won’t load properly in Windows unless you switch your language environment to Korean. Even further, if you download from Mnet, the Korean tag text is code page 949, so if you import it directly to iTunes on the Mac side, you get a bunch of trash characters, even though id3 tags are supposed to be UCS-2 (for v2.2 and v2.3) or UTF-8 (for v2.4). It would all be a lot simpler for all involved if ALL the Korean record producers would open up shop in iTunes…then we’d all be taken care of.

nice compilation…. but instead of sharing download links, how about sharing tutorials on how foreigners can purchase songs off mnet and naver?

if you have int’l texts enabled, naver is probably the best deal. besides, mnet’s website has gone WACKY for americans right now >_<
