[101010] Deevine, Kan Jong Wook & Park Ki Young @ The M Wave

12 Oct

We have fresh faces on The M Wave this week. Deevine performs his new upbeat track Bad, while Park Ki Young returns with her 7th album title track The Lights. On the other hand, we have J2 member Kan Jong Wook with his new single track B.O.Y. (Because of You).

Kan Jong Wook – B.O.Y. (Because of You)

He debuted in January 2004 with “Delete.” he worked on many OST pieces, most recently “Completely Broke” for the TV drama, “Gloria.” In July 2010, Kan Jong Wook and his twin brother Jong Woo worked together as the group J2.

This is from Kan Jong Wook’s 2nd single. His twin brother, Kan Jong Woo wrote the lyrics for “B.O.Y.” and also features in the song. The song is about the emptiness and sorrow following separation.

Park Ki Young debuted in 1998. She quickly became a beloved singer-songwriter in Korea. She is a singer with the talent for the live stage. Park makes her return to the music scene after four years with “The Lights.”

This is the title track to her 7th studio album. It’s by Loveholics member and composer, Kang Hyun Min.
Park Ki Young’s voice adds the perfect sentimental touch to the ballad. It’s about the loneliness which accompanies the absence of communication.

Deevine debuted in January 2008. His singing and guitar playing skills were learned from artists in the USA and Japan. He worked mostly with ballads until September’s new release “Bad.”

“Bad” is the title track for Deevine’s 3rd mini album “gRowing Vol. 2,” which he wrote, composed and produced himself. “Bad” replaces his usual acoustic sounds for a stronger synthesized sound and direct lyrics. He’s singing about the ultimate ‘bad boy’ and his charming ways with the ladies.
